De Duitse componist Friedrich Wilhelm Zachow groeide op in de tweede helft van de 17e eeuw en dat was precies de tijd dat de kerkmuziek enorm belangrijk was in de Duitse samenleving. Zachow was muzikaal leider van de stad Halle en organist in verschillende kerken. Vanavond gaan we luisteren naar een paar delen uit zijn Cantate: “Bei Gott ist mein Heil, meine Ehre”.
De tekst komt uit Psalm 62: “Bij God is mijn redding en mijn eer. Mijn machtige rots, mijn schuilplaats is God. Wie op Hem hoopt en Hem vertrouwt, komt nooit bedrogen uit”.
Prachtige tekst zo op de valreep van het jaar…
